Carl Jung's Introduction the Heinrick Zimmer's 'The Holy Men of India'
The article above was first published in the Mountain Path in July 2010 as a shorter article.
Demystifying Carl Jung’s avoidant behaviour in India and his subsequent written explanations by understanding his mental state.
Cold Feet Part 1 is the first of an in-depth series of articles about Carl Jung, India and Eastern spiritual disciplines. Cold Feet is the first attempt to penetrate Jung’s defences to show how and why Jung concealed that he was deliberately avoidant in meeting any of the ‘Holy men of India’ when he was in India in 1938. It uses modern psychological tools to reveal precisely what drove Carl Jung. Although Jung was the first psychologist to introduce us to the East, he was also deluded as he believed he was a prophetic guru.
